Novices

Novices are very welcome to join our club, We hold a sessions for novices as well as intermediate paddlers .  Juniors must be accompanied by a responsible adult. At present we have both juniors and senior novices who have give in to the promise of such diverse experiences as peace, tranquillity and stunning unspoilt scenery, challenges and spine-tingling excitement.

We are lucky to be able to offer weekly pool sessions at Blyth Sports Centre from September to April, where beginners can develop basic skills in a stable environment. They are also useful for the more experienced to be able to practise techniques such as Eskimo rolls and rescues.

Once on the open water novices receive lots of support. A recent addition to our range of club kayaks is a Toppo Duo which is useful in building up the confidence of novices in faster moving water as well as being great fun for all!.
